HOW DOES IT WORK?

BOTOX® Cosmetic (onabotulinumtoxinA) targets one of the underlying causes of frown lines and crow’s feet— the repeated muscle contractions from frowning and squinting over the years. It temporarily reduces this muscle activity so you’ll begin to notice a visible smoothing of these lines.

For crows feet, your provider will give you this treatment into the muscle surrounding the sides of your eyes— called the orbicularis oculi muscles.

For moderate to severe frown lines, your provider will give you this treatment into 2 muscles— the corrugator and procerus muscles.

DOES IT HURT?

Some patients report while being treated that it feels like a pinch. Our provider will use ice to numb the treatment area. If you are concerned about discomfort, ask your provider to apply a topical numbing cream before administering your treatment.

HOW LONG DOES TREATMENT TAKE?

The treatment takes approximately 10 minutes and requires minimal downtime or recovery—it’s often called a lunchtime procedure.
